After my back gave out after years of use on.. After my back gave out after years of use on a riding mower, vibration is not good if you have herniated disks! I decided to get a walk behind. Having recently bought a cub cadet snow blower I was impressed and looking for something by that company. While the Cub Cadet 33in 382cc wide cut walk behind was not easy to find on store floors, it appeared on many web sites.

When I got it home I had to do some setup. Un-crating it was harder than setup. I also wanted one that my wife could use.

She didn't care for our latest rider which had pedal speed control. I didn't either, it felt to me like the car-like control was not really perfected on riding mowers, at least not on the less expensive but well known mowers.

Once I got this one setup, I was still recovering from my back problems, so my wife had first run with it. She liked it right away. A week later I got the chance to use it and I have to say it is a great mower. It feels good and sturdy.

The front swivel wheels make it very easy to use. Another famous brand had a comparable mower, but with fixed front wheels. I can't believe that that could turn as easy as this cub cadet All in all a great mower. The 33 inch cut does take a little longer than my 42 inch cut rider, but for me it's worth it, and my doctor agrees, in light of less vibration on my back as well as a little more exercise walking behind it!

I wanted to hate it. For those who want the short and sweet of it, here you are. It lacks some refined features but it's actually really nice considering it's half of what a commercial mower cost.

Cuts nicely, starts right up, easy to assemble, easy to manovure. I strongly doubt the average home owner will dislike this mower.

And what I mean by that it's NOT a walk behind mower like you see lawn company's use. It will not mow steep banks across and that is the easy way.

But it will mow up and down very well. Standing at the handles the left lever is the drive and the right lever is for the blades or PTO. Oh it does not turn that well unless you take it out of drive to neutral letting off the drive lever will stop it but it still in gear so it does not roll.

If you have a flat or a little slopein your yard this is a very nice mower! I'm putting this out just because I told my company that we need a walk behind and this is what they got. I just hope this helps you. Very nice machine very happy..

I have no problems with it's turning ability or weight. However, with only 50 hours on it, I've had to replace the Drive Engagement cable. Looks like this might be a design flaw... This mower is a beast and I frankly use it on tall farm type grass frequently. It never bogs down and rarely even on the thick tall field.

The deck never clogs or barely holds wet grass under the deck. I have only owned it for about 1 month so can't speak of longevity yet. My only reason for giving it a 4 instead of a five is due to two draw backs. When You are in reverse in moves extremely slow for safety purposes I realize that but literally makes this torture if you intend on going forward and in reverse a lot. I personally think they could have added one more speed here.

The other engineering disaster is that if you are in reverse with the blade activated it will chop the foot guard right off and get thrown by the blades. Happened to me on the first day not a thing you want to see right after you pay 1300 big ones for mower. The company did put it in fine print in the manual but could/should have put it on the actual handle in large lettering or in bold print as a minimum or could have installed a safety switch causing the unit to shut down.
